Senet Ancient Board Game (Wood) The Ancient Board Game of Senet, one of the world's oldest board games was played in Egypt during Predynastic and First Dynasties and was found in tombs circa 3500BC and 3100 BC. Original games were made of clay or stone but modern sets are usually wood. Senet is similiar to Backgammon as it is a two-player strategy game. Five pawns are allocated to each player who then throws 4 sticks to determine the movement of the pawns around the board. Each stick is white on one side and black on the other and a throw can produce a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 depending on how the sticks land. The winner is the player who can remove all his pawns from the board first. This Senet set is all wood.
